2 Peaks Pat Colgan Challenge – 95 km
This route will climb The Cut and The Wolftrap before returning to Tullamore across some scenic quite roads. This route includes 1,000 metres of climbing.
Base of the Blooms Challenge – 75km
This route skirts around the base of the Slieve Blooms and avoids all the major climbs before returning along the same roads as the 95km cycle. It still contains 400 metres of climbing across some rolling terrain.
For those who didn’t manage to make it down for the main event in early July some of the club members are organising a weekend away to Killarney to take in the Ring of Kerry.
This will take place on the weekend of September 13th 2014. If numbers are good a bus will be arranged to take participants down on the Friday night. Cycle the Ring on Saturday and return home on Sunday.
For the hardcore, Niall is organising to cycle down on the Friday.
In order to figure out hotel costs etc. let Sandra know if you are interested so we know the likely numbers. Call or text on 086 8506201.

Any novices in the club who are currently doing the Sunday ride-outs might be interested in getting in some extra miles midweek over the summer. If enough are interested, we will have a ride-out on either Wednesday evening
or Friday evening (Whichever suits) and take in a climb along the route.
The spin will be 50 km approx and we hope to start with a few runs over Croghan hill, The Cut and Knock hill. ( Not all the same night obviously !!). These will be great for building stamina and strengthening the legs ,and will be at controlled speeds so everyone enjoys it. We will have riders from the club looking after you, and there to give help and advice.
If you are interested and want to bank a few extra miles contact any of the following :
